The Guardians of Gobotron

If you have no idea who the GoBots are here we go:

Thousands of years ago on the planet GoBotron a race of humanoid beings known as GoBings lived until a  planet wide civil war erupted dividing the population into two factions.  The power-hungry terrorist group known as the Renegades led by GoBeing only known as the "Master Renegade" and the Guardians who sought to end the war and restore peace to the planet. When a Renegade sabotage operation inadvertently resulted in a gigantic asteroid colliding with GoBotron it shattered a majority of the planet sending most of it's mass off into space causing what as left of the planet to suffer from natural disasters that pushed the surviving GoBings race to the verge of extinction.

Among the Guardians' survivors was a brilliant scientist who specialized in advanced cybernetics known only as the "Last Engineer" devised a way to save his people by transferring their minds into large robot bodies better suited to the harsh environment that was now Gobotron.

The GoBots forms were given the ability to fly, shoot energy from their hands and to further their adaptability  The Last Engineer granted them the ability to transform into vehicles after being run through a device named the Modifier.

His work done, the Last Engineer intended to retreat to a fully loaded workshop elsewhere in the galaxy, but the Master Renegade stole his ship and escaped GoBotron leaving the Last Engineer behind.

The Last Engineer placed himself into suspended animation beneath the surface of GoBotron. The remaining Renegades stole the GoBots technology and used it on themselves causing the war between the Guardians and the Renegades, now all encased in GoBots shells to rage on for thousands of years across the shattered remains of GoBotron.

When the Renegades leader Cy-Kill escaped from prison and fled with his lieutenants Coptur and Crasher to the planet Earth the Guardians Leader-1, Scooter and Turbo soon followed attempting to save Earth from the war that plagued their home planet and bring Cy-Kill and his gang back to Gobotron to face justice. Soon more robots from each side of the conflict made their way to Earth and joined in the ever escalating battle for supremacy.

My original concept was going to be a joke for this one. I was going to show the main Scooter, Leader-1 and Turbo dancing at a club but then I couldn't make the club background work so I decided to show them sort of cheering and dancing in celebration at having caught their enemies Coptur, Cy-Kill and Crasher and are now transporting them back to GoBotron.

For the GoBots I decided for the most part to go with a mix of their animated and  toy designs because I just felt in Turbo and Scooter's cases their toys looked much better facially design wise.

The Go-Bots copyright Hasbro & Bandai (Tonka's GoBots became the intellectual property of Hasbro after their buyout of Tonka in 1991. While Hasbro now owns the fictional side of the property (character names, bios, storyline), the actual toys and their likenesses were only licensed from Bandai in the 80s, were not covered by the Tonka acquisition, and are not available for Hasbro use.)
