The Baroness Strikes Back by wondermanrules The Baroness Strikes Back by wondermanrules
I've been wanting to do a Baroness picture for a while now and was finally inspired to do so when looking through some photos my friend sent me.

For Baroness I went with her newer sunglasses look instead of her old round lenses and green lenses sunglasses and gave her one of Cobra's trademark blue laser pistols.

For those of you who don't know her, here's her deal:

Anastasia DeCobray was a spoiled rich, naive teenager whose family hails from Eastern Europe.

Ana, worrying about her brother Eugene, decided to visit him when he was working as a volunteer for a peace organization in South East Asia during a military offensive.

When Eugene discovered the relief supplies he was in charge of were being sold to arms dealers to finance the offensive he was assassinated by the supply sellers before he could reveal their crimes to the authorities.

Eugene's body is soon discovered by future GI Joe member Snake-Eyes. Ana arrived to visit her brother after the fire fight with the fleeing criminals. Seeing an American soldier standing over her brother's corpse with a smoking gun made Ana snap and blame Snake-Eyes for his murder.

Restrained by other soldiers Ana is escorted from the murder scene just as the Scottish arms dealer Destro (James McCullen the XXIII) and his son (James XXIV) enter the scene and are revealed as the arms dealers the dead men were selling the supplies to.

The elder Destro discoverd that Eugene wore a bulletproof vest, easily capable of stopping shots from Snake-Eyes' pistol and deduced the truth of the young man's death, clearing Snake-Eyes of the crime.

Ana never hears this revelation, returns to her home in the United States and becomes increasingly bitter and full of venom towards the American government (their military in particular) and actively protests their hypocrisy.

Joining a few militant revolutionary groups over the following years Ana becomes known as the Baroness and develops intelligence gathering and espionage skills on par with professional spies and saboteurs. These lead her to the fledgling terrorist group Cobra where she quickly becomes second in command under Cobra Commander as the organization grows in size and power.

During these events the Baroness crosses paths with James McCullen Destro XXIV, who has succeeded his father as an arms dealer. The two share a brief but passionate relationship for a time but they are then separated by their duties until Destro formally joins Cobra as their exclusive arms dealer a while later.

Together with her one true love once again the Baroness often finds her loyalties to Cobra and Destro at odds when the two don't share the same goals. Despite this the Baroness is a dangerous femme fatal that should never be underestimated.

Cobra, GI Joe, Baroness and above characters copyright Hasbro.

Special thanks to my friend Kelly [link] for the awesome pose :tighthug:

Damn, I hadn't known about 90% of that Baroness backstory. It's been a while since I had those personnel cards from the backs of the figures, and I didn't read much of the comics. Love the detail on the armor and guns. So evil, so deadly, yet I'm in love.

Thanks, I'm glad you appreciate the info :D

I used her original action figure for the details and my friend Kelly was the model for Baroness.

Baroness is definitely one of the reasons I started to like bad girls :XD:
For me as well. I know that anime is not your big thing, but I've got to tell you about a shock of the familiar you'll get with Gundam G. The combat is essentially Gundam meets the Olympics, with its oftentimes ludicrous mecha designs folowing national stereotypes, until a larger force unites five of them (Japan, USA, China, France, and Russia). The big hulk for Russia, a convict pressed into combat, has a female minder: brunette, glasses, Slavic extraction, military uniform, severely beautiful. Sound familiar? Though the American rep., Chibodee Crockett, has four hot female Gundam mechanics, I still love this Baroness look-a-like best.

I honestly gave Gundam a shot a few times with a few different series but I could just never get into it. I can't really explain why. I love giant robots, space ships, violence and hot chicks but for some reason it just never did it for me.
I like a few installments of it, but I am not that big of a fan of the franchise in general. I saw Gundam G on Cartoon Network's Toonami and liked it fine, even given how ludicrous a lot of it is.

The one anime I wish they would bring to Adult Swim is Highschool of the Dead. I've only seen the first three episodes of the translated series and it's friggin awesome. :iconzombiewalkplz:

The only animes I really liked so far on that channel were FLCL and Cowboy Bebop. Though I have to say I love the anime G4 has of Wolverine. :D
HOTD is available on video, and wait till you get to the fan service festival of episode 6.

love the lighting effects on her costume and glasses. Baroness was one of the sexiest figures ever! I used to make her and Scarlett have catfights (Baroness always won!)

hehe thanks. I always loved the character because she was hot and dangerous in the comics and the cartoon.

I always had her fight Lady Jaye or Zarana since they always sported more cleavage :XD:
