Saturn Girl near Jupiter

In the 31st Century Imra Ardeen was born on Titan, the largest of Saturn’s moons. Imra was born with telepathic powers that enable her to sense impending danger, read people’s minds and link multiple being’s thoughts.

When Imra was en route to Earth to join the Science Police, her telepathic powers picked up an assassination plot against wealthy stargate inventor R.J. Brande.

Working with the super powered Rokk Krinn and Garth Ranzz the trio of heroes foiled the assassination plot saving Brande’s life. Impressed by their teamwork Brande founded The Legion of Superheroes.

All the Legionnaires chose codenames with Krinn became Cosmic Boy, Ranzz became Lightning Lad and Irma was dubbed Saturn Girl. Each Legionnaire was provided with a flight ring bearing the Legion’s insignia but Saturn Girl found that she preferred to use a flight belt rather than depend on her ring.

During her early adventures with the Legion, Saturn Girl discovered she hadn’t fully developed her mental shielding enough to prevent her mind from reading other people’s thoughts or being influenced by evil telepaths. Because of this Saturn Girl once lost her sanity when she was forced to shut down the Composite Man’s mind.

Thanks to the love of her teammate Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl’s sanity was restored and the two eventually married.

When the Legion was split into two groups and scattered by the villain Blight, Saturn Girl lead the team that was lost in another galaxy using her mental skills to save them and eventually lead them home.

Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad eventually had twin sons named Graham and Garridan. After their home was destroyed and their children were kidnapped Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad rescued their children and took a leave of absence from the Legion of Superheroes to spend time together as a family.
